VENDORS participating in the upcoming Brunei MSME Festival attended a briefing by organiser DARe (Darussalam Enterprise), in Kampong Anggerek Desa yesterday.
Around 200 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); One Village, One Product (1K1P) traders; Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) companies; government-linked companies (GLCs); financial institutions; and private companies will participate in the event from March 28-31 at the Bridex Hall in Jerudong.
The festival is Brunei’s biggest showcase of local products and services aimed at promoting entrepreneurial culture, as well as raising awareness of programmes and services provided by DARe and other government agencies.
It is also hoped to serve as a platform for marketable products and services offered by local MSMEs, and ultimately their potential in being developed further for export.
The vendors were informed on placement of their booths that will be segmented according to the business activities to be carried out, such as food and beverages; health, beauty and cosmetics; fashion and textiles; handicrafts; household items; ICT; and services.
Apart from the local product and service showcase, the vendors were also encouraged to participate in other activities during the four-day event, such as MSME-sharing sessions, business matching sessions and a conference on ‘Tapping New Markets: Exporting Your Way to Growth’, as well as seminars and talks.
These seminars and talks are being conducted in collaboration with the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Unit under the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI), to socialise various government reforms that benefit the local businesses in Brunei Darussalam.
