A specific centre will soon be set up for breastfeeding and expectant mothers planning to get vaccinated, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar told a press conference yesterday.

Announcements will be made in the near future on matters including how they can book a slot, whether it will be wheelchair accessible and access for BruHIMS users.

The minister said Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccines are suitable for expectant and breastfeeding mothers.

Meanwhile, taking into account the high risk faced by expectant mothers whose husbands work at the office, instead from home, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah said, “It is up to their employers’ consideration for these husbands to work from home as much as possible.

“If the husband is an essential worker, he can take extra precautions and adhere to the standard operating procedures”.
