Utilise knowledge received, congregants told

The Information Department hoped that the informed society programme will be well received and be fully utilised as a step to create informed and knowledgeable participants in supporting the implementation of Brunei Vision 2035, Head of Information Department Tutong Branch Pengiran Arsul bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin said.

The visiton is aimed at becoming educated, highly skilled and successful individuals; subsequently having a high quality of life and reaching towards a dynamic and resilient economy.

Pengiran Arsul as the Chairperson of the Programme Committee said this at Informed Society Programme for the Muslim congregants of Mukim Keriam Mosques in the Tutong District towards the realisation of its vision of “Cultivating an Informed Society” by the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office through the Tutong District Branch yesterday.

The two-day programme at the Information Department, Jalan Airport Lama, Berakas, aims to increase knowledge and present the latest developments on the government’s efforts towards improving living standards as well as providing inspiration to members of the community.

Some 45 congregants from Kampong Keriam Mosque, Kampong Sinaut Mosque, Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Kelugos and Kampong Kupang Mosque participated in the programme.

Various activities were arranged for the two-day programme to provide exposure to the participants, including briefings from several agencies.

The participants also heard a briefing on the role of Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) in developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as opportunities and programmes.

The participants also visited Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd, and Royal Brunei Culinary.

The programme is expected to be a platform to build a relationship between the Information Department, the agencies involved and the community, in addition to being able to strengthen one’s identity and instill confidence in dealing with life’s challenges and influences which can disrupt the harmony, well-being and stability of life in the country.
