British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Richard Lindsay hosted a reception at his residence yesterday to celebrate the achievements of Brayan Usit and award a commendation on behalf of the Provost Marshal, who is the head of the British Army’s Royal Military Police (RMP).
In 1999, Brayan Usit commenced work as a Mess Steward with the British Forces Brunei (BFB) at the Brunei Garrison in Seria, and promoted a year later as Garrison Warrant Officer and Sergeant’s Mess Manager.
In 2008, Brayan took on a new role as Police Liaison Officer for the RMP, again providing excellent service to the BFB.
As part of this work, he provided important support to the local RMP and close liaison with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).
According to the British High Commission, Usit has worked for BFB for 20 years, providing invaluable service to the Brunei Garrison.

He has also been actively involved in the community, volunteering his time to the Brunei Darussalam Scout Association and representing Brunei in youth exchange programmes within Asia, Japan and South Korea.
The British High Commissioner spoke of his delight in awarding Usit with a Provost Marshal’s Commendation, which is a recognition by the United Kingdom for his selfless commitment, exemplary work ethic and for providing significant support to the RMP.
“This commendation and the story of Brayan Usit’s achievements is an excellent example of the strong and longstanding defence relationship between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam,” said Lindsay.
British Defence Adviser, Group Captain Graeme Davis, as well as Usit’s family members and colleagues from the BFB were also present.
