USA Badminton stripped of governing status

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – United States Olympic chiefs on Tuesday moved to strip USA Badminton (USAB) of its governing body status after it failed to implement a range of reforms recommended in a 2018 audit.

United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Chief Executive Sarah Hirshland said in a statement the organisation had begun the formal process required to decertify USA Badminton.

“We have set high standards to associate with the Olympic and Paralympic movements in the United States, and we must hold organisations accountable when they don’t live up to those standards,” Hirshland said.
