Upholding health the Islamic way

Sixteen booths from different faculties and centres of the Religious Teachers University of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) are featured at the Islamic Health Exhibition, which ends today at the Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas.

The exhibition was officiated by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday to provide an understanding of upholding health as a blessing from Allah the Almighty.

There were also health education seminars led, by Dr Mikdar Rusdi and jawi and khat demonstration by Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as well as senior officials at the MoH and MoRA.

Other activities included a prayer demonstration, health therapy, ablution, tayammum and prayer for ill patients and Islamic law and its relation to objectives of Maqasid Syariah in tackling pandemic disease.

Information on the prevention of anxiety and depression according to Islam, Thibbun Nabawi, benefits of a Sunnah food and diet, the importance of health and divine vaccines, interactive light exercises, Fatwa and Irysad on health were also available.

A blood donation campaign by Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) was also set up at the exhibition.

This is the first time such an event is being held with the objective of raising awareness on the importance of consuming food based on As-Sunnah.
