Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd (UNN) recently upgraded a set of services resulting in the release of a nationwide layer 2 Ethernet offering, which brings Brunei Darussalam in line with world standards – Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF).
The new range of services will be known as National Ethernet and will directly replace FERVPN, a network service inherited during the telecommunication industry transformation.
Through the upgraded National Ethernet, UNN is now able to provide two main Ethernet services – E-LINE and E-LAN. Each main service type provides port-based services and VLAN-based services as follows, allowing clients the flexibility to move from point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or multipoint-to-multipoint seamlessly when required.
The transition from FERVPN to National Ethernet began on December 1. Existing clients on the former service are eligible to migrate to National Ethernet. This upgrade exercise is one of UNN’s latest efforts delivering internationally recognised and quality service to the nation.
