Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) marked a new milestone by being listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023.
According to THE, only 1,591 universities are listed in its fifth edition from 1,705 assessment participants.
UNISSA is the first Bruneian institute of higher learning to participate in the assessment. Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the university submitted data for eight SDGs.
The university secured top 601-800 rankings for SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
Since 2019, THE Impact Rankings have been the only global assessment that measures university performance based on the 17 SDGs set by the United Nations towards building a sustainable future by the year 2030. – Rokiah Mahmud
