UNISSA hoists national flag to mark National Day celebration

IN A show of patriotism for the 35th National Day celebration, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through its Student Welfare Section organised a flag-hoisting ceremony at Zone ‘A’ car park of the university’s premises in Gadong recently.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the handing over of the national flag by the guest of honour, UNISSA Acting Rector Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, to Sergeant Military Cadet Aqil Rabbani bin A Ramlee.

The hoisting of the flag was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan by UNISSA students, teachers and staff.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by Military Cadet Mohd Arif Al-Haziq bin Haji Abdul Rahman.

This year, 320 UNISSA undergraduates will participate in the National Day parade at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien on Saturday.
