Students from various schools visited the Seria Energy Lab (SEL) exhibition at the Climate Action Week of the Brunei Mid-year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MCYE 2022) at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.

The students along with the teachers were welcomed to the centre by science communicators, coordinators, and staff members at SEL, who gave a presentation and showed a video on the impact of climate change has on the country and the world.

The students toured various exhibitions at the hall, specifically the Aqualab section, ‘Our Earth’ Exhibit, as well as the exhibit showcasing technologies in use to help conserve energy and are part of the continued effort to combat climate change.

The visit represents one of the many initiatives that are aimed at raising awareness of climate action by reducing carbon emissions through human activities in the industrial sectors as well as increasing the use of renewable energy and educating the public on adaptation and resilience.

The SEL’s interactive exhibitions, hands-on activities and educational science and talk show programmes are available to the public from 9am to 4.30pm at Sejati 4, ICC.

Organised by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Brunei Tourism Board in collaboration with government agencies, statutory bodies, stakeholders and private agencies, the Brunei MYCE 2022 is fully supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The event is also supported by D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd as the event operator; Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) as the official Telco partner; as well as official media partners – Radio Television Brunei (RTB), Pelita Brunei and Brunei Press Sdn Bhd.
