The Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam and Chinese Enterprises Association in Brunei (CEAB) jointly held a donation activity for Ramadhan on Saturday.
Ambassador-Designate of China to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo and CEAB President Li Feng were present accompanied by Economic and Commercial counsellor at the embassy Kang Wen and around 30 representatives from 16 members of CEAB. It included Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited Brunei Branch, Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd, Beibu Gulf Holdings (B) Sdn Bhd, Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd, China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited Brunei Branch, Sinotrans (B) Sdn Bhd, Beijing Tong Ren Tang (B) Sdn Bhd, China Harbour Engineering Company (Brunei) Sdn Bhd, HLDS (B) Steel Sdn Bhd, SCCB Sdn Bhd, Hiseaton Fisheries (B) Sdn Bhd, DCON Sdn Bhd, NJNCC(B) Sdn Bhd, CSCPE (B) Sdn Bhd, Sinohydro Pahaytc Joint Venture Sdn Bhd, and Hushi Lab (B) Sdn Bhd.
Xiao Jianguo stated that China and Brunei Darussalam are good neighbours and partners across the sea.
“The economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries have a long history and the Chinese nation has a tradition of kindness and charity, and after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, China donated vaccines to Brunei in a timely manner.”
Meanwhile, Brunei has a good tradition of helping the needy and vulnerable groups during Ramadhan, he said hoping that the donations could make the families in the country feel the warmth of China.
Li Feng thanked the Chinese Embassy for the support and participation, saying that the Chinese Embassy and CEAB donated daily necessities to 15 Malay families, demonstrating love and social responsibility of Chinese enterprises, and expressed gratitude towards the families that received the donations.
Xiao Jianguo, Kang Wen and President Li Feng distributed the daily necessities and toys to the families.
The Chinese Embassy and CEAB personnel were divided into five groups and travelled to Muara and Tutong District for the donation.
