Three unauthorised tile warehouses in Kampong Rimba, Mukim Gadong were ordered by the Planning Authority to cease and tear down its building extensions for violating Section 23 (2), Town and Country Planning Order (TCPO) 2015 – conducting activities and constructing building extensions without a planning permit.
The storage activities were carried out on residential land unsuitable for storage purposes, according to a press statement by the Department of Town and Country Planning (TCP), Ministry of Development.
The industrial activities were carried out illegally, risking harm to the neighbourhood.
The Planning Authority said it did not receive applications for the activities to be operated on the premises.
Upon routine inspection in July, the landowner complied with the order to discontinue the activities and had demolished the illegal extensions cleaned up the area.
