A group of students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) conducted an E-Waste Awareness Campaign and Roadshow at two schools – Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Secondary School and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School – as part of their Discovery Year project with Green Brunei.
The objectives of the roadshow were to raise awareness on electronic waste management through educational talks, educate the students on the effects of e-waste towards the climate and environment in the short and long-run. It was also to reduce improper disposal of e-waste, thus lessening the impact to the environment.
The campaign was carried out through talks and activities such as answering quizzes on e-waste and also problem-solving by the students.
This project will continue this Sunday by reaching out to the public at Bandarku Ceria where the team will provide quizzes and activities that relates to e-waste and ways to recycle them through a local recycling company.
