Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in collaboration with the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) organised a blood drive at the UBD Main Library from 10am to 2pm yesterday.
The blood drive held in conjunction with the UBD Library Book Fair, was open to students as well as members of the public.
JPMC personnel conducted health checkups to ensure blood donors were fit.
Sixth time donor Siti Ra’imah binti Haji Awang shared that she first donated blood in 2016, when she was 18. Since then, she has actively stepped forward every time she encounters a blood donation campaign.
“It makes me happy because I know that I am able to help someone in need of blood,” she said.
The event aimed to raise reserves at the JPMC blood bank and increase awareness on the importance of donating blood.
The campaign continues today from 9am to 11.30am.
