Two women nabbed in immigration raid

The Law Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department in Kuala Belait carried out an inspection on a rented house at Jalan Kerma Negara yesterday, detaining two foreign women for further investigation.

One of the women had reportedly run away from her employer and violated the provisions under Regulation 15 (1), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act, by overstaying in the country.

The second woman was brought in for further questioning under Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and Regulations.

The Immigration and National Registration Department is stepping up on enforcement activities through continuous monitoring, operations and inspections based on available information, whether unaided or in collaboration with other enforcement agencies.
