The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) captured a two-metre python at the Batang Duri Water Treatment Plant on Friday.
The reptile was caught using a snake catcher and released far from residential areas.
Four firefighters from the Rataie Fire Station led by ABKS 4 Achau anak Juti responded to the animal disturbance report at 9.40pm.
The FRD said unclean premises with rodent infestation are prone to attracting wild animals such as crocodiles, snakes and monitor lizards, while abandoned and unmaintained lawns may become animals’ nesting and breeding grounds.
The public is urged to report to the FRD immediately upon encountering wild animals roaming residential or commercial areas, without attempting to approach or threaten them.
