    Two-hour closure planned for eight petrol stations in April

    The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through the Weights and Measures (SDT) Unit under the Ministry of Finance and Economy will be carrying out verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps, causing temporary closures at eight petrol stations throughout April.

    The stations, temporarily closed from 9am to 11am include: Stesen Minyak Koperasi Kampong Sungai Teraban (KKST) Berhad on April 16; Stesen Minyak Syarikat PHA Bakar bin Jambol on April 17; Stesen Minyak TAIB Beribi on April 20; Stesen Minyak Perkhidmatan Lumut on April 22; Stesen Minyak Perkhidmatan Lumut Belait on April 22; Stesen Minyak Pengalayan on April 23; Stesen Minyak Syarikat Badan Tanmiah on April 24; Stesen Minyak Syarikat Perusahaan Cahaya Pakatan Berhad on April 27; and Stesen Minyak Syarikat Kerjasama Kampong Tanjong Nangka on April 29.

    According to SDT, the verification of accuracy readings on fuel dispensing pumps is conducted in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151. The stipulated guidelines under the Act require all weighing and measuring machines used for trading purposes to be checked for their accuracy and validity and whether the machines have already been registered with the SDT Unit. – James Kon
