Two companies fined for unapproved signage display

James Kon

Enforcement Division personnel from the Authority for Building Control and Construction Industry (ABCi) yesterday issued compound fines to two local companies for violating Regulation 12, Building Control (Advertisement, Billboard and Signboard) Regulations, 2016.

One company was issued a BND1,000 compound fine for displaying a commercial signage without permission along Jalan Muara, while the other was levied a BND500 compound fine for displaying a commercial signage without permission in Mukim Gadong. Both companies were given 14 days to settle the compound fine.

The public is advised to ensure the appointed advertising company has a valid registration.

Additionally, permission must first be obtained before displaying a business signage or billboard outside a business premise, in accordance with the Building Control (Advertisement, Billboard and Signboard) Regulations 2016.
