A 37-year-old local and a 47-year-old permanent resident were detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) personnel yesterday after 30 cases (720 cans of beer) were allegedly found at the back of a 4×4 pick-up.

According to the RBPF, the vehicle was stopped at KM16 of Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge for allegedly carrying contraband at 2.37pm following a tip-off. Bangar Police Station personnel found the contraband at the back of the pick-up covered by a canvas.

The suspects – both males – and the contraband were brought to the Bangar Police Station.

The case was handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department.

The RBPF urged the public to share information on criminal activities by contacting 993, nearby police station or email to [email protected]
