TWO local females caught committing theft at the basement parking lot of Aman Hills Shopping Centre on March 9 were apprehended by the Berakas Police Station and charged in court recently.
Siti Noorjanah binti Abdullah, 32, and Masfauziah binti Pungut @ Ismail, 30, both unemployed, were caught red-handed by authorities stealing items inside an unlocked vehicle parked at the basement.
Both were charged under Section 379 (Theft) of the Penal Code Chapter 22.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) advises all car owners to equip their vehicles with reliable security system and to install a locking device on the steering wheel or gear.
Car owners should park their vehicles in well-lit areas, switch off the engine and remove all valuable items – even when leaving the vehicle unattended for a short period.
