A HUGE tree fell on the busy Tutong-Muara Highway around 4pm on Saturday damaging two vehicles and slightly injuring one driver.

According to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), four firefighters from the Jerudong Fire Station led by ASO Isa rushed to the scene after a distress call was made at 4.08pm.

The drivers of both vehicles were locals and one sustained injuries to his head. He was transported to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital by the public.

Firefighters removed and cleared the 20-metre long tree.

The FRD advised road users to always be cautious while driving and comply to the speed limit, and to stay focussed and wear seatbelts.

They are also reminded to not use mobile phones while driving.

The department added that if there is any emergency incident, the public can contact the operation centre at 995.
