Two bound for Philippines for direction development workshop

Two representatives from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) recently left the Sultanate for the Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN) Strategic Direction Development Workshop 2023-2028 at Philippines Normal University, the Philippines.

The two representatives are Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research Centre Dr Kharhan bin Haji Jait in his capacity as the coordinator for AsTEN activities and Head of Strategic Management and Quality Assurance Unit of KUPU SB Ahmad Humaizi bin Haji Samihon.

The workshop aims to generate important discussions on the current and future directions of education and teacher education in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), providing opportunities for sharing views on the role of teacher education in ASEAN post-pandemic and subsequently developing strategic directions, strategic objectives, and action plans for the AsTEN for four years – 2023-2028. AsTEN is a network of teacher education institutions in ASEAN countries with its establishment aimed to address issues related to teacher education programmes, practices and policies in ASEAN.

AsTEN also serves as a platform for academic and research collaboration among member institutions benefitting ASEAN countries.

KUPU SB as member of AsTEN network in line with the functions of the network as well as significant to the objectives of the university college in establishing collaborations with higher education institutions locally and abroad related to teacher education, research, service and management, academic staff, and students.
