Twelve participants were awarded with certificates of attendance following the completion of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course at a closing ceremony held at the NFABD House yesterday.
NFABD President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan was the guest of honour.
The course, conducted by the Coach Education Unit of the Technical Development Department, was designed to teach how to analyse, plan, organise and conduct practical coaching sessions especially for the development of younger players.
Throughout the programme, coaches were given lessons on modern football coaching concepts and themes. They were also given theoretical and practical assessments to gauge their level of understanding of the Laws of the Game.
The course, which was made exclusive to Brunei Super League (BSL) club coaches for the first time, aimed at assisting teams to better understand and achieve club licensing requirements. Coach Developer for the course Md Ikhmarol Izzat bin Haji Omar said, “The coaches on the course showed a willingness to learn which is noteworthy.”
He continued, “The importance of self-preparation as well as engaging with their team members was emphasised during the course.”
“My co-educator Haji Rozaimienizam bin Haji Jainal and I wish them every success in their continued thirst for knowledge and experience.”
Meanwhile, NFABD Technical Director Sivaji Narayanan highlighted that Brunei football deserves better results in football and that change is necessary to achieve this.
He said, “This means that we need to change and the word change is something that comes and improve. Change means a lot of headache and sacrifice from everyone.”
In addition to the 12 participants, five individuals from the 2019 cohort were also presented certificates.
NFABD Executive Committee members Pengiran Haji Waslimin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin and Ah Chua bin Bangau presented the certificates.
