Twelve Daikyo Industrial Gas Sdn Bhd staff were accredited as fire marshals after completing the three-day fire marshal course at Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station recently.
The Public Relations Division of Operation ‘A’ Branch under the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) delivered the course while adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The participants learnt the importance of fire prevention and safety through theory and practical lessons.
The session touched on the causes of fire, understanding the course of action taken when a fire breaks out at a workplace by training on systematic evacuation.
In addition, participants learnt the proper method of using a fire extinguisher and fire blanket as well as getting familiar with the tools used in fire and rescue operations.
