THE Tutong District will host the Arts and Crafts Festival 2018 from December 13-16 at the old Building of Tutong District Office to provide local craftsmen and artists a platform to display their creations and valuable collections.
Young aspiring artists are invited to showcase their artworks during the four-day festival by contacting the Tutong District Tourism Promotion and Coordination Body.
Chairperson of Tutong District Tourism Promotion and Coordination Body Muhamad Amir bin Haji Umarali during a press conference at Tutong District old office building yesterday hoped that the festival will provide an opportunity for the public to take a closer look at the works of local artists in painting, handicraft and the valuable collection of antiques.
According to Muhammad Amir, the Tutong District old office, built in the early 1900s, is an ideal venue for the festival due to its historical importance. It is also strategically located in the heart of Pekan Tutong.
The festival features a 3D art gallery, old and vintage photography collection, handicraft demonstration and exhibition, antique collection, exhibition by the Tutong District Tourism Promotion Centre, ‘One Village, One Product’, language quiz, poetry, ethnic performances, and more.
