Tutong school holds graduation ceremony

Tutong’s Chung Hwa School held a graduation ceremony for its Years 6 students and Kindergarten 3 pupils at its newly completed multi-purpose hall in Kampong Kiudang recently.

Chairman of the school’s Board of Directors Soon Sing Lee was the guest of honour.

Other members of the Board of Directors, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman Haji Asrul Saniy bin Haji Md Arif Lim, teachers and staff of the school as well as parents and guardians of the students were also present.

The ceremony began with a march by graduating students, followed by the singing of national and school anthems.

Principal Haji Yahya bin Haji Abdul Rahman delivered a welcoming speech during which he congratulated the students and thanked parents and teachers for their support.

It was followed by a speech from representative of the Board of Directors Khoo Eng Luk and the PTA Chairman.

The event also saw speeches from student representatives in Malay, English and Chinese languages thanking teachers, staff and parents.

The guest of honour and other members of Board of Directors presented awards and certificates to students including Academic Excellence and Awards for Prefects.

A video presentation created by teachers and PTA members was also shown.
