The championship committee members will commence distributing registration forms today, organisers said in a statement yesterday.

Participation is open for teams under ministries, departments, sports associations, higher learning institutions, secondary schools, mukims and villages based in the Brunei-Muara District.

The conditions of competition include having a combined weight not exceeding 560 kilogrammes for eight pullers in Category ‘A’ (lightweight); not exceeding 680 kilogrammes for eight pullers in Category ‘B’ (heavyweight); and not exceeding 500 kilogrammes for eight pullers in Category ‘C’ (teenagers aged 19 and under).

All matches will be conducted whilst standing only and footwear is not allowed. A refereeing system adopted by the Tug of War International Federation will be used.
