Trio remanded for involvement in string of theft

THE Bangar Police Station in the Temburong District arrested three local men earlier this month believed to be involved in six theft cases reported in Mukim Bangar and Mukim Batu Apoi in November and December last year, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said.

All three suspects were arraigned at the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

The first suspect Ampuan Abdul Razaini Zikri bin Ampuan Abdul Rahman, 29, faces two charges under Section 380 of the Penal Code Chapter 22 for theft inside a property, while Azimi bin Haji Mohamed, 42, is being charged with two counts under Section 457 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code for abetting in housebreaking.

The third supect, Amaran bin Mayasin, 43, faces a charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code for the possession of stolen property.

The Magistrate’s Court ordered for the remand of all three defendants for the next mention of the case in the Intermediate Court on January 26, 2019.
