The Magistrate’s Court yesterday fixed trial dates in the case involving a policeman indicted with one attempt, three cheating and four road traffic charges.

Lance Corporal 4555 Sahlan bin Haji Mat Sahat, 39, denied the attempt and cheating charges, but pleaded guilty to driving with an expired road tax on four occasions.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman fixed May 24 to 29, 2021 for the trial to be heard.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau’s investigations show that a woman claimed to have been stopped by a policeman who said that his car windscreen had been damaged by a stone that fell from her car.

Allegations further state that it was the defendant, and he had insisted on her paying for the damaged windscreen.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Dayangku Didi-Nuraza binti Pengiran Haji Latiff prosecuted the case.
