Tremors felt in the capital

An earthquake tremor was felt around 10 am in the capital according to eyewitness accounts shared with the Bulletin. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) data indicates that the earthquake, measuring 7.1 magnitude, struck at sea, precisely 131 km from Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, Philippines.

Tremors were also reported in other Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines and parts of Malaysia.

According to an employee at one of the buildings in the capital, they were having a meeting when her colleagues noticed “hanging lights swinging and drinks on their tables swooshing” during the tremor. At the same time, she felt slightly nauseated, before evacuating the building.
