Training leaves residents on better jungle rescue footing

Members of the working committee of Bukit Saeh Recreational Park received their certificates following the conclusion of a basic course on jungle rescue and first aid programme recently.

Twenty-three participants completed the basic course on jungle rescue, while 25 attended briefing on first aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Commanding Officer of Operation ‘D’ Branch of the Fire and Rescue Department Senior Superintendent Muhd Shahreeni bin Haji Muhd Yussof presented the certificates as the guest of honour.

Co-chair of the working committee of Bukit Saeh Recreational Park Haji Halidi bin Jerudin said, “The course is essential as it helps members of the working committee learn the standard operating procedure on rescue operations, while creating a clear and systematic organisational flow in park activities.

“It also helps to boost participants’ motivation and provide them with a better understanding of the necessary assistance to firefighters during rescue operations.”

Haji Halidi hoped that with the accreditation, participants will continue to improve themselves as certified hiking guides.”

A certificate of appreciation presentation to the course facilitators by the guest of honour concluded the event.
