Time for restaurant owners to be more proactive

I’m writing in response to ‘Rise in registration for BruHealth app’, published in the Bulletin on June 4.

I am a person who frequently eats out, and I always make sure to scan the QR when entering and exiting a restaurant. At busy restaurants, the scanning may not be as straightforward. Often, customers have to queue to get into the premises.

I was at a fast food restaurant in Gadong recently. There was no shelter set up at the entrance. I ended up waiting in line under the hot sun for over 10 minutes.

I think restaurant owners should be more proactive in attracting customers. We are entering a new normal; we all have to scan the QR code instead of just waltzing into a restaurant like we did previously. So while the customers have to adapt to the new changes, it’s time that restaurants do the same.
