Enforcement officers from the Labour Department nabbed three foreign workers recently for violating their foreign worker’s licence in Kampong Sengkurong and Kampong Mulaut.

The Law Enforcement Division of the Labour Department conducted Operation ‘Sejahtera 23/2022’ on April 5, aimed at ensuring employers comply with the Employment Order 2009.

The agency carried out inspections on car wash business and restaurants in Kampong Sengkurong and Kampong Mulaut.

They found a violation of foreign worker’s licence under Section 112 of the Employment Order 2009, whereby the employer had abused the position of a foreign worker contrary to the position stated in the foreign worker licence approved by the Labour Commissioner.

Three foreign workers were found to be working contrary to their legal positions.
If convicted, the employer will be fined BND600 for the first offence and BND900 for the second offence.
