Three new imported COVID-19 cases detected

Brunei Darussalam detected three new imported COVID-19 cases yesterday bringing the number of confirmed cases to 235. Case 233 is a 41-year-old man who arrived in the country from Pakistan via Kuala Lumpur on May 5. He has had occasional coughs since May 15.

Cases 234 and 235 are men aged 34 and 35. Both arrived in the country from Manila on May 5 and showed no symptoms. Investigation and contact tracing confirmed there are no close contacts for the new cases since they were quarantined upon arrival in the country with travel arrangements and mandatory self-isolation adhering to existing standard operating procedures.
