Three foreigners detained for violating employment regulations

Three foreign workers were detained following a recent operation by the Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) dubbed Ops Pumpung in two separate operations.

The first operation, Ops Pumpung JIPK 165/2020, was held on December 22 at around 9.20am at a nasi katok stall in Kampong Kasat, Mukim Lumapas.

One foreign worker selling nasi katok was found to be in violation of the provisions of Regulation 15 (3) of the Immigration Act and Regulations, for holding a job not in accordance with that stated on the work pass.

Meanwhile, the Ops Pumpung JIPK 166/2020 carried out on December 23 at around 1.30pm at a fish farm at Mukim Muara found two foreign workers for working for an employer other than that stated in the work permit, which was in violation of Regulation 15 (2) of the Immigration Act and Regulations.

The three foreign workers have been detained for questioning and brought to the Law Enforcement Division of the INRD under Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and Regulations.
