Three embrace Islamic faith in conversion ceremony

Three individuals of Iban ethnicity embraced Islam during a ceremony at the Belait District Dakwah Unit office in Jalan Maulana yesterday.

Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad was the guest of honour.

The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Assistant Religious Officer at the Belait District Dakwah Unit Abdul Khaliq bin Kamree before the three converts recited the Syahadah.

Uda anak Kilau, 43, embraced the name Muhammad Syafiq Uda bin Abdullah Kilau while 24-year-old Maxwell anak Injak chose Muhammad Imran bin Abdullah Injak as his new name. Inu anak Klambu, 63, is now known as Nurul Ainah binti Abdullah.

Haji Amirol Hafidzin also presented gifts to the converts and sprinkled bunga rampai accompanied by the recitation of Dikir Asyraqal.

The Belait District Dakwah Unit office recorded 35 individuals who have embraced Islam in the district this year. – Daniel Lim
