Three Brunei representatives off to Mastera conference in KL

A delegation from the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), in its capacity as the Secretariat to the Southeast Asian Literature Council (Mastera) Brunei Darussalam, left for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday to attend the Mastera Secretariat meeting and deliberation.

The representatives from Mastera Brunei Darussalam will attend the three-day meeting held today until June 23, led by DBP Literature and Magazine Division Head Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin in his capacity as the Mastera Secretariat cum chief representative of Mastera Brunei Darussalam.

Two Mastera Brunei Darussalam experts, Professor Ampuan Dr Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah and Dr Haji Ramlee bin Haji Tinkong from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will also attend.

The event will also be joined by chief representatives and members of Mastera from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Secretariat-level meeting is held to discuss follow-up actions on literary collaborations, such as determining the work ethics of a project; plan activities related to the construction and development of literature; discuss cooperation working papers and projects submitted by Mastera member states; and discuss the management of Mastera projects and programmes as well as reports on literary activities in council meetings, in preparation for the implementation of the 26th Mastera Conference 2022 to be held in Malaysia in October.
