Third batch of pilgrims leave for Haj

THE third batch of the Brunei Darussalam Haj pilgrims boarded Royal Brunei Airlines Flight BI4205 for Madinah yesterday.

The aircraft carried 254 pilgrims including three officers of the Medical Haj Affairs and an officer from Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB).

To bless the event, a Doa Selamat was recited by Zulkifle bin Haji Murad while the Azan was performed by Haji Suhaili bin Haji Kalong.

Present to send off the Haj pilgrims were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse, Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Hasbi.

Also present were Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) Board of Directors; Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar and spouse; Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar and spouse; Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Emad bin Abdul Aziz bin Saad Al Muhanna; and other senior government officials.
