Muara Port Company
Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd (MPC) collected 40 pints of blood during a blood donation drive held in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital at the Cruise Ship Centre in Muara Port recently.
Among the donors were two MPC employees, Natasha Hilyati binti Haji Effendi and Roswalee bin Abu Bakar, their second time donating after August last year.
Natasha said her friends and relatives had shared with her that the blood donation process was painless and made them feel fresh.
“It kind of triggered the curiosity in me and when our company organised the drive last year, I decided to give it a try and here I am again for the second time,” Natasha added.
After donating the first time, she promised to herself to donate again knowing how a pint of blood could save three lives.
She called on the community to help the Blood Donation Centre in replenishing blood supplies.
Meanwhile, Roswalee said it was a spontaneous decision during his first time donating to join the team to help save lives.
“I know that this selfless service can help us have a kind of elation and increased energy which comes with a sense of calmness and serenity as it boosts the mental health in knowing that a pint of blood is saving lives,” he said. – Lyna Mohamad
