THE Magistrate’s Court yesterday fixed trial for a theft case for November after retracting the defendant’s guilty plea to a charge of theft.

Muhammad Danial bin Abdullah Wong @ Wong Hon Yet, a 40-year-old Brunei permanent resident, last month pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of a shock absorber and brake caliper from a vehicle located at a house on Jalan Kampong Sungai Lalit at 10.30am on February 17.

Muhammad Danial however informed Senior Magistrate Azrimah binti Haji Abdul Rahman that he saw the items lying on the ground and thought they were discarded items.

The court, upon hearing this, made the decision to retract his plea.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman fixed the trial yesterday to run from November 19-21.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli prosecuted the case.
