As Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan (CHMS) immersed itself in various celebratory events to commemorate its 100th year, students’ education remained its top priority.

The school’s efforts paid off with its success in the 2022 Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level examinations.

The three top-performing candidates in the country were all CHMS students: Chuang Pei Rong @ Annika Chuang (11A*), Tan Hong Hui (10A*1A) and Hwong Yin Xin (nine A* two A). Nine out of 10 students who scored 10As were also from CHMS. CHMS has been awarding full scholarships to students with five As in Primary School Assessment (PSR) examination since 2018.

The school’s commitment to establishing a conducive learning environment and positive learning culture has allowed students to achieve their goals.

The school also contributes its success to the quality of teaching.

It holds professional development courses every year to raise teaching standards and enhance effectiveness, such as keynote speeches, conferences, sharing sessions, training, webinars, and research and development.
