I WOULD like to express my thanks to the authorities for restoring the tower clock located at the roundabout of Jalan McKerron, Mukim Kuala Belait.
I first raised my concern in the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin on August 4, 2018.
I also posted the issue on social media and received mixed feed-backs from others.
But I was optimistic that it would be fixed.
Indeed it made me very happy when restoration work began on the fourth week of January, 2019.
By early February 2019 the clock is fully operational.
It really shows the dedication and commitment of the department to look after the well-being of not only Kuala Belait communities, but the country on the whole.
It will also give a good impression to the tourists and the like.
The clock at the ‘Teko’ roundabout of Jalan Pandan Lima going to the KB Sentral Shopping Centre is also not functioning.
If the same initiative can be done, it will be very much appreciated.
To the team of the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin, my gratitude for making this page as a medium for readers to raise/mention concerns around their vicinity.
Hopefully action by appropriate parties on any issues encountered will be resolved in a reasonable time.
Let’s make our country clean, green and conducive; an abode of peace.
– Haji Anuar bin Jinal of Kampong Pandan A, Kuala Belait
