Thai Embassy to hold blood drive on May 28

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam will organise a blood drive for the Thai community in Brunei Darussalam and ‘Friends of Thailand’ at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre from 8am to 4.30pm on May 28.

The blood donation drive is organised with the aim of supporting the Blood Donation Centre to ensure reliable blood supply for emergency situations.

Some 24 individuals have registered with the embassy to participate in the drive, including Thai people, ‘Friends of Thailand’ and embassy officials.

Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul will be present to officiate the drive and present Thai food as a token of appreciation to Blood Donation Centre officials for their hard work. She will also visit the donors to offer moral support and present Thai delicacy to them.

This will be the second time the embassy hosts a blood donation drive and this follows an encouraging response from the Thai community in the previous session held on November 13, 2019 in conjunction with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand’s Royal Initiative Volunteers ‘Good Deeds from the Heart’ project.
