Thai Embassy hosts blood donation drive

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam with the Thai community in the country organised a blood donation drive at the embassy yesterday.

It was held in conjunction with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand’s Royal Initiative Volunteers ‘Good Deeds from the Heart’ project.

Some 60 participants including Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei  Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul participated.

His Majesty the King of Thailand instructed the King’s Private Offices 904 to set up the Royal Initiative Volunteers in tribute to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit for their contributions to the Thai nation.

The programme, under the supervision of the King’s Private Offices 904, encourages unity and happiness among the people, and stability for the country.

A Royal Initiative Volunteers Project operations centre was also set up to control, direct and coordinate the activities.

This is the first time that the Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam is hosting a blood donation drive.
