Temburong receives containers from NDMC

The National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) handed over two containers to the Temburong District Office, as a member of the Temburong District Disaster Management Centre, for the storage of disaster logistic equipment.

The containers are located at Temburong District Office Land Workshop.

Director of National Disaster Management Centre Colonel (Rtd) Muhd Harrith Rashidi bin Haji Muhd Jamin handed over the keys to the containers to Acting Assistant Temburong District Officer Haji Mohd Azmi bin Haji Suhaili who is chair of the Temburong District Disaster Management Centre.

Officials from the National Disaster Management Centre and Temburong District Office were also present.

Following the handover ceremony, Colonel (Rtd) Muhd Harrith Rashidi and Haji Mohd Azmi toured the containers.

Meanwhile, 30 individuals from Mukim Batu Apoi, Temburong District completed a two-day Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) programme and received their certificates from Haji Mohd Azmi in a ceremony at Kampong Batu Apoi Community Hall.

Colonel (Rtd) Muhd Harrith Rashidi and officials from government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were also present.

Participants of the programme comprised village leaders, youth and villagers from Kampong Batu Apoi, Kampong Negalang, Kampong Tanjung Bungar and Kampong Selapan.

Haji Mohd Azmi urged the participants to make full use of the knowledge and experience gained from the programme and unite to deal with disasters using the whole-of-nation approach.
