An Iban family embraced the Islamic faith during a conversion ceremony at their house in STKRJ Kampong Rataie, Temburong District yesterday.
Nyeliana anak Ngabong, 31, chose Aleeya Liyana binti Abdul Rahman as her Muslim name while Marlenny anak Jemat, 35, picked Nurkhalishah Layana binti Abdullah Jemat; Hendry Ipa anak Jemat, 26, chose Muhammad Heidi Ashman bin Abdullah Jemat; Faterly Haqimi, 14, took Muhammad Fattah Hakim bin Abdullah; Viviyen Ashley anak Victaro, 12, chose Nurafifah Dalishah binti ‘Abdul Malik; Vincent Adden Buga anak Victaro, eight, picked Muhammad Yusuf Inas bin ‘Abdul Malik; Mikael Arfin anak Victaro, seven, chose Muhammad Mikail Anas bin ‘Abdul Malik; and three-month-old Alyssa Aurora is now known as Nurareesyah Ayuni binti Abdullah.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang as well as officials from MoRA and the Ministry of Development were present at the event.
