Temburong District students celebrate Khatam Al-Quran completion

Temburong District Arabic School celebrated the achievement of 29 Year 6 and Year 8 students who successfully completed the recitation of 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran during a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held recently at the Belalong Community Hall in Pekan Bangar, Temburong District.

Acting Assistant Director of Islamic Studies Department (JPI) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Ayop bin Haji Ghani was the guest of honour.

The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, followed by selected surahs recited by the Khatam participants. Mohd Farhan Hafizzy bin Mohd Redzuan delivered the Takhtim and Doa Khatam. The event also saw a Dikir Marhaban performance.

The highlight of the ceremony was the guest of honour presenting Khatam certificates to the students. The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam and Doa Selamat led by Muhammad Abdul Hadi bin Haji Bagol.

The annual Khatam Al-Quran ceremony is a key school activity aimed at fostering daily Al-Quran recitation among students, nurturing an Al-Quran-literate generation, and supporting Brunei’s aspiration of becoming a Zikir nation. – Fadley Faisal
