    Teenagers share success stories

    A forum titled ‘Children as National Asset’ was held in conjunction with World Children’s Day 2021.

    It saw teenagers sharing their success stories in different fields – arts, sports, infocommunications technology and daily life.

    The forum was aimed at raising awareness in the community on the importance of different parties’ roles in shaping excellence in children. It also inspired children to strive for success.

    Over 80 people comprising students, teachers and the public participated in the forum held virtually through Zoom app and broadcast on Brunei Youth Council’s YouTube channel.

    Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College student Aaliaa Fatrisha binti Haji Md Amirul hosted the event as moderator.

    Panel members included Basma Lachkar and Mohd Safiee Shayferan bin Roslan from Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam, Seri Mulia Sarjana Secondary School’s Awangku Mohd Isa Daneil Muqri bin Pengiran Khamarul Zaman, Alya ’Nadhirah binti Kudilah from Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College and Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) as well as Nur Amiirah binti Umar Baki from Lambak Kiri Secondary School and YASKA.

    Legislative Council (LegCo) member and President of Brunei Youth Council Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari was also in attendance.

    The forum, held in collaboration with Brunei Youth Council and Community Development Department (JAPEM), was also supported by the Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports; Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications; Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education, YASKA and Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA).
