AL IDRUS FT team manager Awangku Kanzul Shah bin Pengiran Haji Damit has attributed the success in reaching the President Cup 1 final to the team playing as a unit following their 2-0 victory over RB Veterans at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club last Sunday.

Efforts from Azmanuddin Haji Gillen and Haji Hassan Haji Damit sent the title favourites on course for a domestic double as they also have interest in the VFA Cup.

“The key to the team’s success is playing as a unit. Well done to all Al Idrus players for reaching the final,” said Awangku Kanzul Shah.

He acknowledged his team’s good display despite a slow start which saw RB Veteran receiving a free kick in the opening minutes of the match.

Al Idrus FT will play either I-Team or KB Warriors in the President 1 final.

“Both teams (I-Team and KB Warriors) in the semi-finals are really good. For me, the team who make the lesser mistake will go through to the final,” the team manager said.

“As a team manager, I will discuss with the coaching team concerning the preparations of Al Idrus FT ahead of the final.

“My advice is for the players to be constantly prepared ahead of the final,” he said.
