Targetting zero cases during the Endemic Phase is unlikely, as COVID-19 will always be among us.

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in yesterday’s press conference to announce a downward trend in the number of COVID-19 cases in the recent week.

Referencing the graph shown during the press conference, the minister said the graph is indicating a decrease in COVID-19 cases week by week. “Because it is still decreasing, it will take some time before we know for sure if the cases have really stabilised,” said the minister.

While the Sultanate is not targetting zero cases, the goal is to reach as low a case number as possible, he added.
